Local Chat

Local chat is the preferred channel for in-game, in-character interactions; and spans multiple commands

/l or /local

Creates a message that displays in blue and gets lighter the further you are away from the speaker.  It is viewable to all characters within roughly one tile distance from the speaker.  You are permitted to insult people in-character within reason using local chat, although please note that the other player may respond as they deem fit.  Insults that could be reasonably construed to be out of character are prohibited and grounds for punitive action.

 

/y <message> or /yell <message> 

Creates a message that displays in red and gets lighter the further you are away from the speaker.  It is viewable to all characters within roughly three tiles of distance from the speaker.  You are permitted to insult people in-character within reason using local chat, although please note that the other player may respond as they deem fit.Insults that could be reasonably construed to be out of character are prohibited and grounds for punitive action.

 

/w <message> or /whisper <message> 

Creates a message that displays in white and gets lighter the further you are away from the speaker.  It is viewable to all characters within roughly one half to one third of distance from the speaker.  You are permitted to insult people in-character within reason using local chat, although please note that the other player may respond as they deem fit.Insults that could be reasonably construed to be out of character are prohibited and grounds for punitive action.
